Course Description
United States History since 1877 covers the major events and eras, including political, economic, and social events that has shaped American life. Each student will be working towards mastery of course content as outlined in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, with the goal of passing/excelling on the EOC US History STAAR test in May. Electronics & Technology
MISD is a BYOD district. District policy is posted on the MISD website on the Parents tab @ http://www.midlandisd.net/Page/26850.
However, there can be times when electronics distract from the educational experience. Students will need to follow campus and classroom procedures regarding the use of devices.

Before school: 8:00 am – 8:30 am
During Lunch: Monday – Thursday: 12:10 pm – 12:40 pm
After school: 4:15 - 4:45 (please make appointment)
Grading Policy
There will be a variety of student assessments. Assignments will be divided into 3 categories: Major, Minor, and Practice. Major grades will be 60% of the total grade, with no single assignment counting for more than 30%. Major grades will be tests and specific assignments that reflect content learning. Minor grades will be 40% of the total, with no single assignment counting for more than 30%. Minor grades will include assignments and quizzes that reflect the progress towards content learning. Practice grades will be 0% category, and will be the bulk of the grades; this is where the learning is taking place. See MHS campus information for Re-Do and Make-Up policies.
